Maniac Mansion Bonus, Deaths, Exploding Hamsters and Fixing the Arcades

Hey everyone this is just a bonus video to show some of the stuff I didn't do in my runs of Maniac Mansion. I may still do another run of the game in the future and show some of the other endings I didn't get. I also show how to fix the arcade so you can get the real inner lab door code.

Thanks again for showing off that arcade scene, I never realized that there was so much work involved! No wonder Ive never seen that before.

Now about the exploding hamster bit, I recall trying that years ago, and for some reason my character just said, and I quote:

"Are you sick?"

Are there certain characters that wont go through with the hamster microwaving?

Only Syd and Razor can put the hamster in the microwave. I also know they took it out of the pal versions of the game.

I always thought you needed Bernard to fix the wires. Now that I think of it, I guess connecting a couple of wires isn't all that difficult. Can you do that with any character?

I am pretty sure any character can fix the wires but I think you must have Bernard to fix the phone.

Apparently the surfer can also fix the phone, which I never understood. Bernard is still the only one to handle the radio tube, though.

I didn't know that about Jeff that is about the only thing he can do then right? I have never really used him, I like his song but that was about it.

Does anyone else think that this would have made a really cool movie? I love these adventure type plots, reminds me of The Goonies, a Goosebumps book, or the recent animated film, Monster House.

What's funny that that exploding hamster, when you do that death, the character that got killed can still be used, making him a ghost. Just be sure to give someone else your items so you don't permanently lose them.

You have to poke holes in a hamster before putting it in the microwave. Rookie mistake.

I remember them talking about this in my Nintendo Power mag way back when it was new. There was alot of crazy things you had to do to get thru the game. cool vid!

Thank you so much for the whole series on Maniac Mansion. I still remember Maniac Mansion on the C64 as the most impressive game of my early youth. And though I've spent countless hours and read up as much as i could later on, this still uncovered quite some details things i never knew about. Too bad you skipped the part after fixing the wires.
