@serumclx i use to think like that but its too obvious in my experience... i have tried to place them near the hole but the second they sense something is a miss they go out of another hole its easier to just put it on a well warn trail you know they use.

@pyrotek13579 24-26 gauge is perfect for steel/stainless steel wire so your good to go

if you know the location of the rabbit holes places a snar there if not why?

I find fishing line the best cordage for snares, clear, strong, and holds tension well. Plus it strangles game much more effectively.

how does the snare not slip off the rabbit its pretty loose

@PopolVuh3 yes i got 5 rabbits last night and 3 coyotes with the 20 gauge wire

I have 11 snares set out, all on rabbit trails, haven't got one yet, but ima going keep trying, i use 20 gauge steel wire

It was a pretty good video...Can you make a video on how to set wire snares in a woody area?
i have 24 guage galvanized steel wire, will this work? i made some snares allready and it seems to slip easily and not come out, and it is easy to mold into a corcle

The thiner the wire the better. The trick is getting the loop close to the ground. 24 guage is worth trying. Let us know how you do...Good Luck !

It is rabbit season, late fall,I am using the fur for clothing, the meat to eat,the guts for bait and the feet for luck

Very Interesting, thanks for the great lesson.
Is it a slip knot that snares the rabbit?(It's very hard to see the knot because of the wire thickness) and what size wire do you use? Do you just set up the snares and then check them everyday? or every few hours?

IT is a slip knot.Bend over 1 1/2 inches of wire, twist a few times and put the tail end through the hole that you made.Form a loop and place this about a inch above the ground. You dont want the wire too big or too small.Check every couple hours for the freshest kills.Take up when you are done.Thank you
