@dantheoriginator while I disagree with your opinion, you argument is valid and I doubt that most of the people who disliked your comment really do understand or fully appreciate what's happening on stage. as a music composer who've worked with contemporary dance for quite some time, I often ask of myself where is the art in this. turns out I have no answer for that for art resides in the interface between the Work and the Viewer so, if it's not art for you, well, it really isn't art. for you :)
@dantheoriginator It might not be considered art in the romantic sense but, lovely as romanticism is, let's have a little variety of expression, yes?
I think it possibly doesn't speak to the heart, it speaks to the muscles, the sinews. This piece has value and is interesting in a way which is apart from meaning, it speaks to the marrow.
Its called contemporary dance... and this is his style!
i went to watch this piece and its about how the body can be pushed beyond its limits, stretching further than normal, moving in a way thats not natural to a dancer. yes it may be showing off how flexible someone is but it also has real structure and research behind it unlike rhythmic gymnastic which is just to look pretty.

Is this art, or gymnastics to electronic music? What as an audience are we meant to take from this. If purely an appreciation of the bodies capabilities then might we turn to rhythmic gymnastics as a more superior form. Shouldn't art communicate/ speak from the heart? This does neither so is it in fact art, or a creatively staged sports exhibition.
