This was one of my first video editing projects in college and one that definitely set the tone for what I want to pursue in my future - Social documentary, in order to give those who are not heard a voice.
Donna Slepack, (my Aunt Donna) is a beautiful soul who has a deep passion for those on death row. While spending time volunteering in Uganda in 2004, she made a trip to the men's and women's maximum security prisons as well as death row to meet some of the inmates, hear their stories and become inspired by their effort in the fight against AIDS, which we are still fighting...30 years later.
This short 10 minute video is really just a quick highlight of Donna's day at the prison. It is an interesting peek into how no matter who you are, what you've done or been accused of...you can still make an effort to change the world for the better.
