The 3 ways to count and dance the on2 timing in salsa (mambo).
1 2 3, 5 6 7 (Eddie Torres popularized this)
2 3 4, 6 7 8
1 2n 3 4, 6 7
Most people in the on2 community dance 123,567, but once in a while, it's fun to try dancing the other timing too! I learned this from talking to various people in the salsa community. If I have made some mistake in this, feel free to reply with your video!
I came across your blog, Jack of Many Trades, and was interested in your travels to Colombia. I myself am planning a three month trip to Cali and am interested in taking classes at Swing Latino. I was wondering if you could enlighten me on the price of classes. I've tried contacting the studio but no one has answered. I would appreciate it greatly! Thank you.

Nice video. This is the first time I've seen the clave step explained.
BTW - When dancing the 234-678, men step forward with their left on the 2.
Most, if not all dances start with the men's first step on the left foot. Since women are always right, their first step is on their right.
