I Created a folder in my webservers ftp and called it /fastgmod... will this work with gmod or do I need a server just for downloading?

I added some addons to my addons folder (im runnin off of nfos) and the server starts fine and everything but the addons wont load i look for guides and stuff but none help im left with commenting on gmod guides n hope someone can reply with an answer :(
