I'm guessing that creatures have fallen to earth and the humans decided to start building spaceships to go and investigate whats going on and maybe the story takes place in the future because the humans did reach the planets and are now having a war with them, but it's just a guess.

sorry to be pedantic but its pronounced elisium, the y sounds like an i. that said, district 9 was such a compelling film that anything blomkamp does would be worth checking out.

what do I think? well, anything this guy does I'll watch... District 9 was a total blessing in disguise, it was marketed brilliantly, and was nothing like I thought it was going to be like. One of the best SciFi flicks in a long time.
