these peachicks were about the size of quails. i doubt that i would have thought that they were peafowls if i hadn't seen them with the peahen. when i was a kid i found a lot of snakes and picked them up and kept them around, and yet that was before i moved to an area that has many venomous snakes. around here, there are venomous snakes, and yet i'm pretty sure that those around my house and the church are non-venomous, and yet the fear of venomous snakes can make us a bit nervous.
Did anyone walk by while you were filming? When you had it zoomed in, it looked like the opening was at eye-level where you were standing. You zoomed out and I realized how far up that was.
The sun came up fast!
They're so cute the way they just whiz right up in there.
Is that a wild peacock or someone's pet?
Haha, that one towards the end: "I'm going in, nah, I'm coming back out."
i'm glad you were able to get it. i could have used a stronger light, and yet it might have disturbed bats more. i don't plan to do it again. the sun comes up fast, and suddenly it's hard to tell that it was so dark a few moments earlier. i hear that these bats only fly around near sunset and sunrise, and i haven't been there near sunset. i think that the bat house is quite crowded. it's a wild peacock. peacocks and peahens often roam around the neighborhood. noone came upto me while i filmed.
they scurry off when i see humans go up to them, and yet they do get close. a few months ago i saw a peahen with several infants (peachicks i guess ) sitting in the bushes right by the church building. also i have seen an iguana about 2 or 3 feet long in the churchyard. from time to time, i see snakes ( likely cornsnakes or ratsnakes, non-venomous ) on the church steps. a cat recently started hanging out at the church, and the priest now has it as a pet. he named it "pita" because of its color.
I picked one up at a park once and it bit me (I picked it up right but it was wet from the stream). Some guy said it wasn't poisonous but my friend said I'd lose my arm so I freaked while I ran to my parents and they said it was fine. Stupid friend.
thanks. you're the first one to leave a comment. i made other bat videos as well, yet it was darker when the others were made, and it seemed that the bats weren't quite so numerous in the other videos. i hope you used full screen and had it on high quality. by the way, this video was made on the 1st day of the week.
Aw, I've never seen baby ones. I bet they're adorable!
I wonder how many people are on their way to church, see a snake go by and run away, haha!

Do the peacocks chase after anything? Like people or animals that walk by them? Or do they just scurry off?
