Our Blessed Mother appeared to St. Juan Diego in Mexico in 1531 on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception(Dec 8). Nine million conversions to the Faith followed. Now we have a miraculous event accompanied by the spreading of Catechesis ( in that time) , followed by healing miracles, as in 1531. John Paul the Great declared "One America" in 1999. hESCR research is centered in Madison,WI, mirroring the Aztec child sacrifice that ended when the Virgin appeared in Mexico. What a momentous day in the history of our country!! I spent the entire day listening to Relevant Radio on this.  Thank you, Drew, and the entire Relevant Radio staff and to Michael Brown for keeping us abreast of this apparition site.

The great advantage to this is that it has the potential to unify people and can create a community of faith. People come together to pray together, believing in something mysterious beyond themselves, but which is common to all. Perhaps that is what is the true purpose of these events, more than any debate about the historical aspect. It's hard to refute the spiritual benefits of a unifying experience.
