Project Salt - Marcos and Nelson

This was an impromptu jam. I had my video camera, Marcos and Nelson had guitars, so I just grabbed some chairs from Luciano's restaurant and I said "Please play something."

Marcos Fernandez teaches music to the children of Santa Maria and Espargos on the island of Sal. The Municipality of Sal is currently paying his salary, thanks to the vision of Nelson Rendall (Councilman for Youth and Culture) and Jorge Figueiredo (Mayor). In collaboration with Project Salt, the children (and adults) are learning a lot.

Nelson Lopes is a long-time friend. In stark contrast to the formal musical education that Marcos received, Nelson learned on his own, by picking up his father's guitar. Notice that he is left handed and plays all the chords "upside down" - something that confuses a lot of folks when playing with him.

Thank you for let me see Marcos playing after 7 years that we saw each other for the last time. He is an amazing guitarrist and my respects to Nelson...Oh My God!!! he is incredible too. As a said Thank you, thank you, thanks a lot millions times. I would love to support his project as well...if there any possible way to do it without travelling?.
