Barack Obama's bow to Japan's Emperor Akihito has conservative raving about the unnecessary degree of the bow. Conservatives however, says Obama's bow is treacherous and a sign of a weakness. Of course, conservatives are the least likely to understand that Obama's bow to Emperor Akihito was not a subservient gesture, but one of great respect.

If he was bowing to the emperor because it is the custom in Asia why did he only bow in Japan and not in South Korea?
