  • Do labs have a higher incidence of epilepsy? I also have a chocolate with it. The phenobarbital helps a lot. I was actually on here looking for reverse sneezing because I thought she was having some new kind of seizure but the vet on call said he thought it was more likely unrelated.

  • @kcmonroe2002 From what I have heard labs are more prone to epilepsy than other breeds. All of my labs (3) have experienced the reverse sneezing, and the first time scared us as well. I think it was due to the amount of pollen in the air since they all had it at the same time.

  • my dog is having the same..i got scared the doctor first told me he was not going to prescribe anthing...and if things get worst then it would be time to start doing it.....today my dog had three seizures..this is worring me

  • @chrisven1000 If my dog had three in one day, I would be very concerned as well. I hope your vet has given you something to control them. Since starting Hunter on Phenobarbital he has only had a few seizures and those were because we forgot to give him is meds.

  • My golden retriever experiences the EXACT same thing. Sometimes she will go for months without it happening, but sometimes it happens more than once a week. Did you get your pup treated? If so, does the vet prescribe any meds? Thanks in advance.

PS - I hope hunter is ok and well!

  • @dlshster

So sorry to hear about you Golden. Hunter does have epilepsy and takes Phenobarbital twice a day. The meds do prevent him from have frequent attacks. I would show this video to you your vet and ask for a prescription. It is very cheap and worth every penny.

  • @RoNdTraeThank you for your comment. In order to diagnose this as an epileptic seizure our vet requested we try to get in on video tape. I thought posting this video may help others tiring to diagnose their pet as well. If you had read my original post, you would have seen this. My dogs are a big part of my life, and I take their care and well-being very seriously.

  • @maurogino18 I wish he were merely dancing. It is heart breaking to see him go through this and not being able to help. I would appear from your comment, that you are both very young and immature or you are just plain heartless.
