New Super Mario Bros. Wii 100%: 9-8 (The Real End)

It's time to go all-out and get through the hardest level ever...........................................

Nope, this is actually a "bonus room" mastery type of level. You get a nice view, lots of coins, and even a Mini Mushroom (only pick this up for extra jumping height and challenge, you don't need it for star coins)...and what has been termed "Ballistic" Bills, who I think you can't even jump on. There aren't too many power-ups and it is auto-scrolling, so put on a Mushroom at least.

And with that...we're all done. Since I used all cannons and found all secret exits, collecting my 231st star coin gives me the confirmation message that I am 100% done. If not, you'll simply see you got all the Star Coins in World 9, and thus this must be all the coins. All 231 coins will be needed to unlock all hint videos (all of which will now be available to buy).

Now, this gives you 5 stars on your profile, which is the most...but you can make them "sparkle" (animated with some small shooting stars) if you NEVER MAKE THE SUPER GUIDE EVEN APPEAR. This is a hard feat on a blind runthrough as you saw in 8-5 but when you know where everything is finally is relatively easy on a second runthrough (and can be much faster than the first). If you let the Super Guide appear after getting 5 stars you can lose the sparkle too. This is purely a pride/perfectionist thing, go for it if you want.

Another thing, as you can see in the last few seconds, is that all mushroom houses are now blue - always open. You can stock up on infinite items, which is good for friends trying out levels and you can afford a 3rd-stage power-up now.

I will not be showing any multiplayer, sorry. I hope everyone enjoyed my videos and we will be doing something similar for Super Mario Galaxy 2 next year!!

how do you make the toad houses re spawn? i've got all the coins in world 1-8 and all of them up level 3 in world 9 but i'm strugglin because i have no power ups. i've completed the game twice and they dnt re appear? help please

plz help!!!! i did all this, got all star coins, got every mushroom house, used every goal, every cannon, and did everything!!!! it won't show up with the 100% message! what do I do!??!?!? and i did check to see if i did every goal, and looked them all up.

@Chriszeo Mushroom houses don't matter...

I'd suggest taking a look at 2-4 and 6-5, which both have secret exits leading to their world's castles via pipes. Those are the two exits that can cause issues on a 4-star file besides cannons.
