Shattered Horizon - Tips and techniques.

Here are some things I do while playing the game. If you are new to the game, or even if you have played a while, it is always nice to see what some other people are doing. You may learn something new or just confirm what you already know works for others.

All the video clips are from a single match, so there are some tips or techniques that may not be covered in the video. I will type any additional hints and tips below as and when I think of them.

Additional tips:

* Practice moving around so you can get fluent with the controls. The easier you find it to navigate and the more complex moves you can do, makes you a better player and allows you to enjoy yourself more because you will be able to lose people and catch up with people better.

* If you are moving pretty straight forward and you already have the momentum you need, stop using your thrusters of any kind. They light up your area with your team's colour making your presence known to anyone within visual range.

* You can use ice grenades to cover an area with a foggy smoke filled with ice crystals. This will obscure you from visual detection and also preclude the enemy from seeing your location on the radar. However if you are "in" the ice cloud while using your thrusters/boosters, then your lights will show up and possibly "visually" give your position away.

* While shooting at your target, aim directly at the body of the person where they are. This game uses a system which needs you to shoot directly at the target rather than where they will be. This may take a bit of getting used too if you are used to games like Counter Strike for example.

The EMP is affective. But I think it causes a lot of flaming in games, when it is used ove and over on the same player.

And whats the deal with players shouting, lets make a sun with some flares? If your going to join a server that isnt newb oriented, play it right.

Before the latest update it was a clean boost. Now you get an additional spin. You can still MPR boost but you either compensate for the spin, or just endure the one spin and level out as I do.

good call on only using half your boost.. never occurred to me, guess I always wanted MOAR POWER!

You say that you always need to aim directly at the player's body in the comments? Is that old? I always lead targets to get kills at long distance..

I just spent all night playing this game for the first time.

Here are some tricks I figured out.

1. When camping out a capture point (for both defence and capture), go into stealth mode. You can sit in a corner and this makes you hard to spot.

2. If you're swimming in empty space and the enemy is bearing down on you, let off a couple of ICE (smoke) grenades and use them to cover your escape.

3. sometimes it's good to latch to a surface to regain your bearings. this also makes sniping easier.
