  • This looks good. I can't believe how much trouble we're having finding pita bread here! I couldn't hear what the very last ingredient mentioned is--something leaves--is it oregeno? the bowl on the far left. It's my bad hearing.

  • @1footonthedawn Thanks for the nice compliment, the ingredient is dry mint, just showing that you can use fresh or dry herbs. Since I was a young girl, my mother always made this sandwich for us to take to school with fresh mint, it can also be made with basil, oregano, thyme, just about any herb you prefer or have on hand. And for the pita bread, I will eventually be putting up how to make pita bread video. Many ethnic markets have it, and some local markets as well.

  • @HowToExpo Thank you for the quick answer! I know I used to make taco-seasoned pita bread shells for tacos, using my bread machine on the dough cycle, but I loaned that cookbook and didn't get it back. Pita shells made tacos so much better than ordinary store-bought shells ever could! I would combine a jar of salsa with meat and beans for a filling, and add lettuce, tomato, onion...etc. I would definitely love a video on making homemade pita bread, whether regular or seasoned.

  • @1footonthedawn I have a great taco seasoning video coming soon, we put it on even french fries, its so good! I never knew you can make pita in a bread machine, but it makes sense and that's and excellent idea for taco shells, also less the fat. Pita bread can be transformed into so many things, even pizza! Not sure when the how to make Pita video will be up but its on our list :) --Vera

  • you guys must be middle eastern-(i am half Syrian) i make this all the time in the summer time- i discovered something wonderful- chocolate mint- grows very easy-leaves are smaller then reg mint and slightly more tender- it does taste like chocolate but not over the top very suttle- and mint is not like reg peppermint its- "minter"- so a little goes a long way- that would be unique to try here- i see the love you put into everything- that makes a world of difference! x shelly

  • @magicadespell56 Hi Shelley, thanks for the message, we have lived in many parts of the world through out the years. Our cooking style is pretty diverse because of that. :) Love Middle Eastern Food.

  • mmmm.. this looks SO good!

my mom is middle eastern and i usually enjoy a similar sandwich for breakfast, she uses the same ingredients but instead of fetta cheese she smears Labneh, it's some sort of Syrian/ Lebanese spread that tastes like sour cream. i would definitely try this. thanks for sharing

  • This is not a pita bread..=.="

  • @HowToExpo I love fresh cut french fries--maybe you can do a video with tips on those sometime. My father soaks his potato pieces in sugar water before he fries them. Never tried taco seasoning on fries but I am sure that is good too. Looking forward to the taco seasoning video. Looking forward to fresh tomatoes to come back into season for tacos, for that matter....!
