  • This is lovely, even with the audio problems. It must have been heaven to have actually been there in the audience. Thanks.

  • @lamisuegra Thanks for the comment! After almost 7 years I still can remember that performance and while listening brings back tears. I put a photo link in the info-block with the few pics I made that afternoon in a somewhat better quality.

  • I don't understand the pictures with this recording - was she performing in her hospital gown? Doesn't seem right to show her in this personal moment - wasn't her singing enough for people that they didn't need to see her this way? Bizarre concept if indeed it was a concept.

  • @EffulgenceDiva Better ask Peter Sellars, who did the staging. I just made the audio recording and mixed it with the photos I made during the concert. If you don't want to see this fragile Lorraine, you can always switch of your screen and just listen !

  • How they all missed the point is quite amazing. "Ich habe Genug" is the song of Simon when he beheld the Christ Child for the first time in the Temple. "Ich hab Ihn geblickt"... "I saw and had Him in my arms, so can leave this world with joy." Only in post-Christian Europe can one sanitize Bach as though his strong religious convictions was not the center of his musical life. This Cantata is about Jesus, boys and girls, as well as the rest of ALL of his compositions!

  • can't stop crying.
