@pepeelsordo 72 to be exact. I meet him this past week to borrow some recordings from him. There is a wonderful recording of an "Attila" performed at the Liceo in Barcelona, Placido conducting as early as 1973. Then, an awsome "Tosca" from Frankfurt in 1976 with Birgit Nilsson and Ingwar Wixell. My God this people really sang. Of course I am talking about live performance recordings. "Manon Lescaut" with Caballé and Sardinero, and of course that "Norma" with Sutherland, Troyanos and J. Díaz.

Paco is 70 years old?
My God, times has passed so fast!!
A great singer with capital letters and a fantastic person with more capital letters.
I witnessed a kind of lesson he gave to Placido about how to sing the Vesti la Giuba, after a concert in which Placido cracked the A two consecutive times.
Un saludo de un viejo conocido de Huelva que hace mucho tiempo vive en USA.

A pleasure to hear. I'd never heard of him before. He looks a little like Sherril Milnes, which is disconcerting to say the least...

He is 70 now. he lives in Madrid and teaches voice. He keeps in a very good shape. He made a wonderful carreer, neat an fair. He was never interested in being famous and glorious. He did only want to sing. No marketing and no public relations. If you ever go to Oper Frankfurt, Vienna or Berlin, ask about him. He is still very admired there.

muchas gracias . Lo de "el mejor" es un detalle de amistad. Pero Paco ha sido un gran tenor por todo el mundo, aunque sin la proyecciòn y el marketing de otros.
