So not true what they told about the Frauenhofer Institute. I was there and talked with the people of the Frauenhofer Institute, the Kinect wasn't used, it was just there for show. Also the facial expressions and head movements was a total different project from the Frauenhofer Institute which wasn't connected to the shopping window.
The finger tracking was done by 2 camera's on the top. The depth was position of the finger was then calculated by the differences of inmages of those two cameras

what if two people want to look at two different shoes in the same row? i gotta wait for the guy to flip his shoes and play with the size and tweet to his buddies before i can look at the other shoe?

im usually really excited about new technologies being used in stores but the shoe thing is just dumb. why wouldnt i just go online and order them from the internet and get them delivered to your house. plus with something like shoes you really need to try them on so just seeing a 360 picture of a shoe really isnt good enough... nice try though.
But what if i want to try the shoe on?
