You Don't Mess Around With Jim - Jim Croce

This is one of the songs I sing in my classroom. I have a great time singing with my students. This was their first introduction to the blues. It's great to hear 30 7th grader singin a blues about a pool hustle that goes bad and ends in a stabbing and shooting. ;)
And you thought hip-hop was violent.

But seriously, this is such a classic story-song by one of the most underappreciated singer/songwriters ever. Jim Croce had a playing and singing style that was truly his own. Defenitely one of my big influences.

Great job man, I just got on to see if I could find this song, and then after listening to It thought I should learn this song and luckily clicked on your video as one never knows what they are going to get. Awesome, looks like an E and a B, I am guessing an A in there somewhere although I didn't really notice it, will have to watch again I loved the run down and will have to try and learn that.
