Want to get better fuel efficiency? It's not available for commercial sale (yet), but the Milwaukee School of Engineering Supermileage Vehicle team is making a car that will likely get over 1,000 miles to the gallon. One of their secrets? Their lightweight, high-tech carbon fiber vehicle body. Watch part of the body-making process!

Interested in learning more about the MSOE SMV team, microcars (the original high mileage vehicles!), or green automotive technology? Check out the greenmileage.wordpress.com, soon to be moved to thegreenmileage.com!

  • You are doing a wet lay form. This is not a strong way to make carbon fibre parts. On top of that you only used three layers. If you are going to make a car you really. Red to do infusion with atleast seven layers. Other wise it will be a 1000mpg death waiting to happen as the car crumbles in an impact
