The World AIDS Campaign marched with over 2000 AIDS activists to the US Embassy on June 17 to voice their concerns around funding shortfalls to meet universal access targets. Activists came from as far as Limpopo, Bloemfontein, Cape Town and Mpumulanga. In a memorandum handed over to US representative Tod Hofkins, activists demanded that President Barack Obama reverse the funding cuts for HIV and ensure that PEPFAR continues to expand funding to meet universal access targets.
