We came, we saw, we conquered. Well maybe not that epic but whenever you have 30 webOS addicts in a room it feels pretty damn epic! On July 6th we managed to gather a pretty awesome cavalcade of webOS fans, developers, and even a few newbies that have found a new interest in our favorite mobile OS.

The day kicked off a little early as several attendees started showing up as much as two hours early just to do a little chatting. As we entered our conference room several of the early attendees helped set up and prepared themselves for a crash course on the ins and outs of the Enyo framework. By the 5:30 PM start time one would have been hard pressed to have found an open seat.

Despite the horrific WiFi at the Hilton Double Tree we managed to get John Kneeland and Lisa Brewster from HP webOS GBU on a Skype call to announce a couple prizes that they had lined up to give to some lucky attendees. Even though we were all eager to see the cool HP Veer that John had set up to give away I think we were all a little more interested in what Lisa was doing with an Angry Birds plush toy on her head!

Finally, we got down to business and started the developer session. The session was hosted by none other than James Harris of Palm Flash Cards fame. To say he did an awesome job would be an understatement. James walked everyone through the basics of building an Enyo app followed by a quick Q and A from the audience. No matter what we threw at James he always had an answer and he definitely showed us all why he is such a big name in webOS development.

After the developer session several of the attendees went to Universal City Walk to have a little fun. Unfortunately, I had managed to get sick the day before the event so I could not make it but James Harris kindly entertained everyone there. Since I didn't make it to the after party I sadly do not have any pictures or videos that but as you can see I have more than a fistful of material from the developer session. As a matter of fact we have the full presentation from James in all of its video glory! So we hope you all enjoy the pics and videos.

We would like to give a big "Thank You!" to James Harris for all of his help. We would also like to thank all of you who attended because without you guys and gals the event would have been a bit lame. Stay tuned because this is just the beginning of many more webOS Meet-Ups here in the Central Florida area. We hope to have another in the very near future.
