  • Diesel pollutes less than Unleaded fuels.

You green peace hippie liberals should do research instead of just hating on people. and throwing shit at oil rigs (polluting the ocean with trash...)

  • who cares about EPA crap, they can suck all the smoke they want,

  • compared to china, this is fresh air

  • @1bearcatf8f I'll have to argue with you on that one. If I pick up produce in Cali and it "must" be in Kansas City within 72hrs, how does taking a week or more by train make them better. People need to know the industry before being allowed to speak.

  • That guy shoved in the layshaft way past 1.6.. :D

  • Who care's if trains pollute its not like we care lol,Beside's train's are better for transporting thing's than trucking

  • @88junor No problem. I also like the 710s. I favor the 710-G3.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 Cool. I was assuming you thought that GE horsepower was all engine from the statement above. Thanks for clarifying. BTW I love the SD40-2s, they are my most favorite locomotive, but most 710s come in a close second.

  • @bradstrains Very true. I will agree with that. I am a huge GE buff, but I do like alot of EMD locomotives such as the late great SD40-2, SD45, and SD50. Both EMD and GE make great locomotives though. Too many people start flame wars over who makes the best one. Truth is, they both has their flaws and neither one is perfect. I like em both though. Just favor GE a little bit more. I do love the radial self steering bogeys that EMD uses though. Great invention. Smooth rides came from them.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 Yeah GE are more reliable in some areas but I know GE has a tendency to blow its turbocharger, more so than EMD.

  • @bradstrains Im not talkin about the heavy sluggers like the AC6000 and the 90MAC. Im talkin about the modern day intermodel movers and coal draggers. Yes, the EMD has a higher starting tractive effort, BUT the GE has more inverters. EMDs have 1 inverter per bogey while the GEs have 1 inverter per axle. Thus the GE (If it has 6 axles total), can lose up to two traction motors per bogey and still have power to the remainins axles. If an EMD's traction motor fails, the entire bogey loses power.

  • @nsrailfann4life91 Which GE are you comparing this to? Both GE and EMD max out Horse power at 6250 on there sd90 and ac6000 models but even so the emd has more starting Tractive effort. This is a 3800 Hp engine which might not sound like much comparing to modern GEs but they accelerate much faster with that higher boost on those turbos.
