After a lot of time trying to setup a real negative resistance oscillator using poland zincite, I have seen it is true.
It is a very difficult for me to find a sensible and stable point at zincite crystal for negative resistance.
I´ve used a simple circuit with a 1 mhz quartz crystal, two wired potentiometers of 25k ohm each, a fixed resistence of 1.5 kohm .27 volts from three 9 volts battery and an am receiver with BFO for hear the signal by beat.
The zincite has been improved heating in an electric arc the crystal and mentingit with a few manganese bioxide sparkling over.
