  • This is a most excellent variant of both Child Ballad #4 and a British broadside ballad, The Outlandish Knight, published between 1813 and 1838 by J. Catnach (London). Thanks for sharing. :-)

    This song was not sung by Peter Knight, but I think by Bob Johnson. The words are traditional but the tune was written and arranged by Bob.

    I agree with others this is a lovely song and not played half enough.
