As the Queen of Prince Rupert floats adrift above where the Queen of the North now lies after she hit Gil Island, apparently in silt upto her rubbing strake / freeboard, resting below here under over 400m of water in the first hour of March 22, 2006, a moment of silence is observed a year later at approx. 0600PST March 22, 2007.

  • Wow,really,the ship sinked like,1 year? Amazing!

  • This clip was recorded on the actual 1 year anniversary though, in March of 2007. It will be the third anniversary next March ('09).

  • It is a ferry, you idiot - not a cruise ship!

  • The best we can figure is that the two got stuck in the elevator, though there was atleast one anecdotal account in an interview at Hartley Bay of seeing them ashore after the sinking but that seems most improbable.

  • In 1999 When I was on board the Queen of the North,I remember a map on the wall that had ships that sunk in the Pacific North West all the way back to the 1700's, Would have never thought she is now on that map, said

I just posted 5 video's from the Queen of the North trip from Aug 1999

  • thank-you to the previous comment, ..no there not on board...just payroll...they should be in jail...this is no accident...this is murder...when you are in charge of mass transport maybe one should pay attention, at the very least not be engaged in other distractions! I don't understand how and why they are getting away with this...it makes NO sense...if this would of happened the sailing before, it would not of just been murder, but mass murder...they need to come clean. my heart to the family

  • So the same crew that brought the Q.O.N. down are on this vessel too ? Well I guess they`re all back to growing their pot plants and having sex orgies all while getting paid. Sounds like a great place to work, and kill passengers then run and hide under the skirt of their union ! ANSWER THE QUESTIONS ! Karl Lilgert and Karen Bricker !

  • Hecate Strait is unforgiving at best, however this occured in next to calm seas in the sheltered waters south of Prince Rupert. The ship hit Gil Island because a course change was not made. Many theories persist to this day, only fueled by the fact that the Transport Canada investigation was inconclusive, all the way from a romantic relationship between two bridge crew members to the previous refit months earlier leaving the ship with a navigation screen that was shut off to reduce glare.

  • Its safe to bet that they are down under now. What a horrible death. That Hecate Strait is unforgiving at best. One fuck-up, you're dead, simple as that.

  • It may be homely, but it's a very long, multi-stop trip up & down the BC coast, and those cabins must look pretty good at bedtime!
