I completely agree about the Narration! I was really excited to see Blue Devils playing a lot of music rep this year, but the narration is killing it for me. It's a cool design, but let the group play instead of the narration.

Don't be sorry, especially if you're defending your home turf....NEVER be sorry for that.

Nothing wrong in being a homer...so long as you're open-minded enough to NOT like something your old corps is putting out if it doesn't thrill you.

BD this year? If they'd lose the recorded French narration I'd be able to tolerate it....it's just WAY too much....as bad or even worse than 07 Cadets (and don't get me going on THAT one)

Frankly, I thought Regiment should've won in 89 as well....but then, I think SCV should've won 87-88. And I have a friend locally who marched Regiment in the late 70s, and HE knows the pain of a close loss.

After SO MANY years of heartbreak, I was honestly happy that your guys finally won a solo title with the Spartacus show....it was LONG overdue.  09 had to have been a rough year after winning, tho.

Well I'm sorry for what I said good sir. I don't get on DCP because majority of the time, people don't know what they are talking about. So I try to stay away from it. I don't even visit DCI.org that often. Just the sad reality that I'm getting out of the scene more and more. Until I get on staff somewhere of course! :)

Actually, if you're on DCP, you might've seen a post from a BD alum clearly stating he was happy Regiment won with that particular show in 08, even if it was at the expense of his old corps and by the slimmest of margins.

That BD alum was me....and I still feel that way, It was a spectacular production...and Will getting speared at the end was the perfect capper (not to mentjon the crowd joining on the "I Am SPARTACUS" bit). Congratulations.

Well as a Phantom Regiment alum, I see this as rather stuck up. Just because BD had been winning it at quarter/semis, doesn't mean that the BD won and Phantom tied. They both marched the same number of shows and judges put down a number. It was a tie, both won. No single corps won, and a corps tied. Let's put it this way, if there was no tie, Phantom had the chance to win it over BD. Look what happened in 08. (PS Don't knock 08, because I happened to march Phantom 08).

No no no....as a BD alum myself....Regiment tied BD (I will see it no other way!)

I see that the same way as I see that SCV and Garfield tied US for brass in 84...or that Conquest Alliance tied Dagenham Crusaders for the UK title in 86 (guess which of the 2 I marched?)

It's all about personal perspective...which is why SCV and BD alums list THEIR corps first if they did the 07 alum gig!
