This shows how a RVT-R disc is dumped, all one need to do this is a LG GDR-8164B Drive, a screwdriver, the Program RawDump for Windows and a RVT-R which needs to be dumped.

The drive needs to be open, as seen in the vid, then insert a retail game DVD and start RawDump. When the program starts to dump the game DVD, stop the drive using your finger and swap the retail game with the RVT-R disc. After that, simply quit RawDump, erase the created .ISO file from the game and restart RawDump with the RVT-R inside the drive and it will start to dump the RVT-R, you will see that it works when RawDump shows the name of the RVT-R disc as shown in the vid.

Dumping a RVT-R takes about 2,5- 3 hours.

Have fun and enjoy!

  • why do you need to take the rare drive apart for it to read????

i would have thought it would rip it with out a probleam.

  • @raylyd This is because of the different sectors on the beginning of the disc(RVT-R discs have a different encryption compared with a retail Wii game disc)

Therefore you need to open the drive, let the drive read a retail game and swap it out with a RVT-R disc(drive thinks a retail is still in it and dumps the data)

BTW, my dumps I made are all working as they should.

  • Doesn't work well the dumps aren't usable

  • @ASSEMblerEX hey, what exactly is not working? Please clearify things up. I dumped many RVT-R discs with this method and all are working. Dumps need maybe some editing. Please drop me a Mail or PM me.
