Thanks. I am changing the alternator on my p38 and I was wondering how the fan belt tightened. But thanks to your video I now know how. (hopefully!) I will try it after lunch.

Did you make sure and bleed the coolant system properly of all air. If there is air in the system, it can prevent the upper parts of the cooling system from getting proper flow of coolant.

You're right,... without the specials tools it's (very) boring… but not impossible !! ;)

My very first replacement, I improvised a fan removal tool and it took Forever (1 hour) and scraped some knuckles. The special fan reomval tool is awesome.
