its called a temp track. film composers use them as a reference source for writing what the director wants to convey in the music. if you listen to the real music from drive you can hear the similarities between them. they are not the same in the real version of the film.

that's what happens when you watch a pirate movie.. not the original. saw it at the movie theater and on bluray and it's a different soundtrack.

Drive also uses the original score from the Social Network when Ryan Gosling meets Carey Mulligan at her diner. Around 45 minutes, I'm watching it right now, so weird!

Hi, I just watched Drive and noticed the music being reused from "Social Network", thought I'd check it out exactly on the net and so i stumbled on your video. Then tho I searched some more and found out what is that about exactly.
The final theatrical release did NOT have any music from "Social Network".
The early cut that leaked into the net and can be found on YouTube for instance DID have it as a placeholder (did fit great tbh).
