its called hydrolocked, and it happens when the user inserts the bowl into the down stem to hard causing it to seize, especially if the bowl and/or the down stem is still wet form a resent cleaning or from adding water to the base. its a common rookie mistake that can easily be avoided. and any real smoker doesn't need no fancy clip to hold their down stem
