  • Idiot. You just named every decade but this one. Every generation has its good art, you just have to dig deeper. You think these guys would've been in SPIN like tv on the radio? Dig deeper and find the weird shit. See what your local artists are doing, not just what's big nationally. I don't care if you live in bumfuck, ohio. there's something goin on.

  • thurston moore reminds you of this.

  • Interpitaion of lyrics:

Just two points I can't take

I don't don't have to must detached me

I must must get up, play scrabble

    You want a puppy dog

    I'm taking position

    I'm to gone for ya

I hit you as I fall

not making fun of them! I love DNA!

  • Also, Devo were from Akron, the Cramps took shape in Ohio,Cleveland in the 70s had the Electric Eels, Mirrors, the Styrenes, Pagans, X_X, Rocket From the Tombs (who gave rise to both Pere Ubu and the Dead Boys), the Jazz Destroyers, etc.; the 80s had the Easter Monkeys, Spike In Vain, Numbskull, the Dark...

  • @Obamaisterrorist I dig TNV and PHS quite a bit, and the label that released both of those bands' debut records, Columbus Discount, releases a lot of other great shit out of the area as well, both old (Jim Shepard, Cheater Slicks, Bassholes, Tommy Jay & Mike Rep) and new (Unholy 2, Puffy Areolas, El Jesus de Magico, Psandwich). As for Cleveland, there's a lot of damaged, knuckle-dragging punk and hardcore -- Homostupids, Folded Shirt, Bad Noids, Obnox, Flying Trichecos, etc.

  • @Soandso801 I live in the deep bumfuck of Ohio and I can't really find a lot of music that really goes out there at this point in time. In the past Ohio has had a lot of great bands like Dayton's 90s scene guided by voices, brainiac, and breeders. Clevelands early to mid punk like pere ube. Cleveland's up and coming Emeralds. Columbus lo-fi times new viking and psychedelic horseshit. There's a lot of new artists here, but they suck. Please, if you know more groups than this tell me.

  • @EsveldtCamine9 actually Bumfuck, OH is probably more artistically rich with fucked-up, interesting music than 90% of the cities in America. Between Cleveland and Columbus, with the occasional outsourcing from Toledo or Akron, I can't think of another state with more consistent output of deranged rock'n'roll since the music's beginnings than Ohio. I know you were probably just using "Bumfuck, OH" as a random example, but I just thought I'd throw that out there.

  • @MaxxHark Well, there were days when there were no music videos,, songs came in huge vinyl disks and you could smoke on the bloody airplane and have sex without a condom and you respected your music collection because you couldn't get every song ever written in 5" minutes off of the internets. Now, there just might be good music nowadays, but most of the attitude and atmosphere required to enjoy it is lost...

  • @EsveldtCamine9 I agree. People always fucking whine about how great it was "in the good old days". There have been no good old days. Just days. Always just days.

  • @jrjrloreto Lol! :)

  • @BlackOasis21 can i barrow yours?

  • @jrjrloreto I recommend you buy a shovel.
