A little video I made of my dyno.
You can really hear the miss through the wastegate around the 3,500-4,500 mark. In the video it sounds like the miss goes away but listening to it in person it was still missing right up to 6,500-7,000rpm but just not as bad.
Would my worn/bad rings cause the miss?
I have put new leads and plugs in and its still there. Maybe a bad injector?

Also when he backs off, is that compressor surge?

  • I've heard these things can handle crazy amounts of boost. And would probably pick this over a 7m if I had to choose between the two.

  • @panzerfaust375 yeah - after 20psi they start to breathe pretty nicely - although anything over 25psi and you have to start doing a bit of head work and get some chunky cams! They're my preferred choice over a 7M for various reasons. I like how they can rev to 8,000rpm stock and still produce power, and how they don't weigh 8 times the weight of the MOON

  • @5UPRAH and produce the same power as the na supra stock with less torque... good luck in finding mroe reasons

  • nice looking car, im thinking of buying a mk3 supra with this engine just wondering what can begot from it without changing internals ? and where can you get aftermarket parts for these >>

  • hey guys nice to see some people giving the 1g a chance i have a ga70 targa

single turbo wouldnt trade it for anything .. also i noticed you got clear driving

lights i cant find them anywere .. where can i find some

    cheers

  • @5UPRAH

What is your power and torque at the wheels and what revs do you hit your peak?

  • @5UPRAH

Fix your missing issue? Could be the coil packs/dizzy? What turbo and how much boost u running? Did you drive it when it was stock turbo? I was lucky enough to get a chance to drive a mk3 supra with a 7m-ge (non-turbo). Loved the way the car felt and I've always loved the look of them. But it gutless as all hell and boring under acceleration. Hoping a stock mk3 supra with a 1g-gte would be more fun then that. At least you get some sort of a turbo rush.

  • @panzerfaust375 Yeah it's pretty darn laggy. But that's because the turbo is WAY too big. The turbo is good for +600hp. Idealy I'd get a much smaller turbo, but this one was available for cheap and is able to produce big power without much stress. It feels like a 6 once the boost comes on haha.
