  • Hi. My line only goes half way down the screen and sometimes is two lines or none depending on how the tv feels i guess. Will this help my tv....It's a LG 50PX1D-UC about 5 or 6 yrs old. thx

  • Not sure if about other models. If it looks the similiar (w/ same flex harness) when you remove the cover give it a try. Good luck!

  • Claudioaloe - I am not familiar with Panasonic. Recommed you continue searching the web for help.

BigHemi76 - This fix is only for vertical lines.

  • Correct. Just melt/re-flow the solder and that's it.

Not sure if the fix will work on the PPM42M5HB but it's worth a try. Just re-flow the solder on all the components on the flex harness.

Sorry for the delayed response. Good luck.

  • Do you know if this would also work on a Samsung PPM42M5HB as well? Same problem but the line is twice as wide.

  • If the line is twice as wide you need to reflowed the solder on the adjacent component. It is probably best just to reflow the solder on all or the components on the flex harness section causing the black lines. To avoid damage to the harness, keep the solder iron on just long enough to melt (reflow) the solder.

  • What a wonderful upbringing for a talented 7 year old! I guess he has watched his dad fix TVs many times, just like my granddaughter has learnt how to take wedding photos by being with us at weddings since she was 3. My husband is now trying out your excellently made video advice, for the same fault on a Hyundai so will let you know how he goes on! xx
