Octopus crawling along the reef

By far one of my favorite animals is the Octopus. They're very elusive and masters at hiding and camouflage. I was fortunate to find this Octopus crawling along the reef in the shallows (around 10 feet deep) at Catalina Island.

Notice how he uses different techniques to disguise himself by changing both color and texture to match his surroundings. Also he expands his body to make himself look as large as possible when I get close.

Something that always stands out to me when I see an Octopus is that it's a very intelligent creature. Perhaps you'll get the same feeling as you watch this video.
