This is me practicing the one drop beat. Constructive Criticism is welcome. The audio is from the built-in mic on the Canon ZR800.

  • This is not ideal. Not much feel. What kinda music did you grow up playing? I can tell it wasn't reggae... listen to Carlton Barret more closely. Nice chops, i can tell what ever kinda music you normally play you're solid and real good at it.

  • This pretty solid, just the same comments everyone else had.

  • Loosen up your hi hat hand bredren... A good way to train your hi hat hand is by learning some gallop hi hat patterns. Listen: Clint Eastwood - Follow Fashion Monkey & Delroy Washington - Jah Wonderful (good one drop with hi hat)...If you want me to show you how bredren, ill post a video. Bless.

  • Nice playing mate. One suggestion would be to use the butt end of your stick for doing the cross sticks on the snare. It's not essential but you get a more fuller sound.
