@hurr1c4n3k33k I second this, amnesia the dark descent is a perfect example of this concept done well, that game induces a feeling of fear and panic in me that no other has, epsecially when its played properly i.e. with the lights off, curtains closed and headphones in.

@ThePandemic101 lol

@xxFortunadoxx Apparently not.

if you want to create a REALLY creepy game, remove every element that gives you the feeling of safety. let the player be helpless and make him just run away from everything. the player will feel stressed, the heart will beat faster, the hands become sweaty. what is more intensive than real emotions!?

@ThePandemic101 Apparently you didn't grasp my second to last post as that explains your post.
-
@xxFortunadoxx Yeah, but it only provides atmosphere, but it does not provide horror.
-
@ThePandemic101 I said primarily. Not solely.
-
@xxFortunadoxx Sound and lighting only provide atmosphere, not horror.

@ThePandemic101 I never said that everyone agrees with me. The irony is that you're wrong about your assumption about me as well. I'm more in agreement with you than I am with others about the prevalence with weapons. I'm just not willing to claim that weapons=not scary. Mainly because it isn't the weapons that make a game scary. It's the atmosphere created from a variety of factors, primarily sound and lighting.

@xxFortunadoxx What about you saying that most will disagree with me? Pretty ignorant to think everyone agrees with you. And you go about thinking, what? That you might escape the coming fire? Your world will burn until it's surface is but glass... wait, what? Sorry, to much Halo 3...
It looked good until you picked up a gun...

@ThePandemic101 At which point I instantly thought: "Oh... It's one of THOSE types of horror games."
