a chance to see a great and extreamly well acted (he said tongue in cheek) episode of this wonderful series ... (with missed timed cues and shaky scenery!) staring Julie Walters as the fantastic Mrs Overall and Celia Imrie as Ms Babs.
also Susie Blake the shining example of what TV continuity announcers were like way back in the 80s on ITV. All comments welcome - let me know if you enjoyed this and i will post more episodes !

  • Brilliant comedy absolutely timeless unlike todays comedies.

    Please post some more.

    Thankyou so much.

Do you have any with outtakes.

  • Brilliant!...Julie Walters is fantastic!!!

  • Hilarious! Two of the best actresses ever!

  • yes it is PGPyramid

  • Have you got a copy of the 2001 Return of Acorn Antiques? It was part of Victoria Wood's Sketch Show Story and was genius but my recording of it was wiped a few years ago. Any chance you can post it here? It's not well known enough. Quote on modernising the script: "Mrs Overall's is shooting up with a couple of rent boys in the pantry...." etc

  • pmsl loved this.. tears 2 my eyes laugh'in..julie walters brillant.

  • classic!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love As Seen On TV!!

    Esp. Acorn Antiques.

Celia Imrie makes me laugh so much. I was watching Dinnerladies once and everything was hectic and stuff and then Phillipa (Celia Imrie's character) burst in, going:

"Would this be a good time to talk about Scottish country dancers?" and I just cracked up.

  • It was actually Celia Imrie and Duncan Preston who order the soup. Julie is brilliant in that sketch. Put in "Victoria Wood two soups" and it'll come up.

    "one soup... and... another one"
