http://pushbacknow.net/2010/12/14/tax-bill-earmark-bill-2000-pages/ Can you believe the Tax Bill has now turned into a 2,000 page earmark bill...Here at Christmas time... Deja Vu anyone, it almost seems like last Christmas when these same democrats did this with the Health care bill..

Here is more of what we have heard for the last two years, Again...
Daniel Inouye, D-Hawaii, says the bill must pass. "The twelve bills included in this package fulfill the Congress' most basic responsibility, to exercise the power of the purse," he said in a statement. "This measure reflects a year's worth of work by members of both parties. Together, we have closely scrutinized the president's budget request, held hundreds of hearings, thousands of meetings, and asked literally tens of thousands of questions to each and every federal department and agency seeking justification for how taxpayer dollars are being spent."

Meanwhile, Republicans poring over the bill are calling it a "total mess."

  • Wow, really? So, we're all up in arms over spending for local projects that help build infrastructure, but, we're all okay with wasting TRILLIONS of dollars messing with people in Afghanistan?

    Republicans are abso-fucking-lutely retarded.

  • @judgex I think the point of this story was to point out that after the President said there would be transparency in Washington and a limit on earmarks in bills, this has not happened. I'm with you on the trillions in Afganistan, but I also think that these earmarks need to be voted on independently, not just thrown in on a bill that is supposed to pass. It just shows that both sides are a bunch of crooks and want as much as possible from the American people. Stop spending money we don't have.

  • @MrSchwach THank you for your cogent post.

  • @judgex Stay on topic.

  • The Dems and Repubs are just the different heads of a 2 headed snake....objetive?

Controlled opposition....typical tactic. The Banksters have had the plan laid out since the inception of the Fed. Res. Anyone who lives under the delusion they are still living in a true Republic and are free....took the wrong color pill!!

  • for me this makes 2 important issue's very obvious ,FIRST if you need money for something you wanna have done in your state ,go to your state not the fed's ,SECOND with all that spending ( including earmarks ) ,its no wonder that they need / want to raise OUR Taxes to pay for all this, only conclusion out of it ....make the feds small again and therefore lower ALL OUR taxes, besides even today those guys (dem's still in charge of house and senat) werent able to come up with a Budget, now thats sad

  • i cant BELIEVE earmarks are legal WTF!!!!??

  • @judgex the pres is a democrat, idiot, and he is commander in chief, so its HIS war.

  • @judgex 1. You have no clue how I vote. 2. 38 senators voted to ban earmarks, 28 of which have earmarks in this bill. Can you say hypocraites. 3. Most earmarks go to finance projects of the companies that donated to the campain of the senator who earmarked it. Can you say kickbacks 4. This bill failed, so you are correct there is no conversation here. I guess that million dollars for peanut research is going to have to wait. Good day to you sir.

  • @MrSchwach There's no point made here that can't be countered by a 10 year old. There's no conversation to be had when someone is going to make blanket statements like "our representatives are crooks"... you're calling the guys crooks who provide earmarks that actually build things for various communities, while voting for and supporting the guys who pocket BILLIONS of dollars for companies like Lockheed M and Northrup G, and sign off on absolutely unjustifiable wars against poor people.

  • @judgex Typical liberal, when someone starts making points that you can't argue with, the name calling begins.

  • @MrSchwach Anyone who refers to our appointed representatives as crooks is a simpleton and a cynic. Go learn something about how our civic system works before you post anything about this.

  • I see people in here barking at others to read what this bill said. How about you tell that to the people who have to vote on these things. They dont read them as well, and yet, they vote on them anyways."we wont know whats in the bill until we pass it"(Nancy Pelosi). It didnt make sense when she said that, and it doesnt make sense now. Here's an idea, lets all go buy a used car off the side of the road, but dont ask the owner any questions about it or even test drive it.That makes the same sense.
