@sventato Alliance battles were absolutly boring. Anyway, without a REAL GvG as a tactical 6on6/5on5 or 8on8 arena system I will not play guild wars 2. Those so called "tactical" maps with capture the flag or king of the hill were boring as hell which is the reason that i never played HA a lot and even prefered the first 3 maps without the pseudo-tactics.

@DerTeke Yup, VoD was fantastic and i play always prot/infuse, so i'd like some support profession like monk in gw2. Oh, they are Alliance Battles, they are 12v12 but never nearly as interesting as GvG.

@sventato Well, I dont know if this is really a good replacement of GvG... In my opinion it sounds like those battles that came with factions. I forgot the name since I do not play active anymore but I think you know what i mean. You were fighting with more then 5 people there but this "capture and hold" system was also realized in HA and HB. It does not replace GvG really well, thats what I think. But of course everyone has to choose on his own. Also the VoD System from before 2008

@DerTeke "The “Guild Battles” of “Guild Wars” sadly don’t exist, but there’s potential for their replacement to be even better. GvG fans should look to Conquest, a structured PvP format where teams of five earn points by capturing and holding up to three locations. This is the format of choice for tournaments in Guild Wars 2. @sventato Oh really? My information appears to be outdated then. 6on6 might be an interesting system but still... I dont know. The healing profession is still missing... I hope that game doesnt loose its dynamic and feels like a Wow-Clone...

@DerTeke for what i read, there will be no gvg, but some sort of 6v6 in AB playstyle, with capping points and similar

damn i remember when Virtual Dragons and Rebels Rising dominated the GvG scene. where there was only the original GANK-Kamikaze Tactics guild and Lazy the biggest PvE alliance was. good times. best game ever played. i hope GW2 can at least reach the bar this awesome game set.
