I would have thought the feeling of loneliness would produce original thought and even more critical thinking because you aren't boxed in by Professors. It is amazing how many of the opinions of Professors are propagated down the generations primarily because of the utmost respect students have for their intellect. I haven't done online schooling before but there would be some consolation in the fact that your mind can run wild with ideas and not be pruned back by the machine of academia.
