My fav scene of sgt hoot. Hoot was based on several real delta operators. One being sgt. Norman "hoot" Hooten and John Mace Macejunas. (This is my favorite scene, opinions may differ)

  • @JRScott121 I am actually starting to read the book. I knew there was a man named hoot but im saying the character in the movie is a combination of hoot and two other gentlemen. Thats what ive read at least.

  • BEST WAR SCENE EVER.

  • THAT WOULD BE FUN! BLOWING AWAY THE NIGGS!

  • @manwithplan61 i have read the book, no deta force were actually in that humvee squadron.

the movie captures the essence of the fight, although i found positions easier to follow in the book since it actually provides maps of the area

but again, you are correct, planting ourselves in every single nation is not necessary. but in the nations which we are neutral with or even enemies with, we should be cautious of their growing strength and keep our eyes on them, even if that means creating bases in their lands. its smarter than waiting to be attacked and then respond after it's too late.

and I believe we did the right thing by going in and kicking him out, my father was sent to Iraq twice and Africa once for the Marine Corps, so I know the effects of a family member over seas, and the worry that we have for our loved ones. I agree with you that trying to establish bases throughout the world is unnecessary, we have the oceans protecting us, but the "preemptive strikes" are typically in nations that might soon pose a threat to us, and it is for security purposes

I would agree with you, our foreign policy is a bit out of wack now, I dont see the point of us staying in Afghanistan for as long as we did, with Iraq at least we had some grounds for trying to seed a democracy or some sort of non-tyrannical regime there, but in Afghanistan there is just nothing to start a form of stable government with. A lot of people give Bush shit for moving into Iraq, but what he did was right, Saddam Hussein was a tyrant who killed thousands of his own people

  • anyone hates on this and i say this if you dont think the guy did a good job then MAKE YOU'RE OWN DONT HATE ON PEOPLES WORK god it gets very anoying
