My blue grass guppies are one of my favorites. In the beginning I was getting more red grass but I kept separating the red grass out and breeding only the blue males. After I had a lot of fry I gave away the adult females and bred the fathers to the daughters and that's when I started getting more blue grass males.

  • To breed good quality guppies you just need to remove all males and grow them out in a tank by themselves and then choose only the males that display the best qualities to return to your breeding tank. My lights are on timers and are on for 13 hours each day. The light over the blue grass tank is an under the counter kitchen light from Wal-mart - so much cheaper than an aquarium light and just as effective.

  • Yes that is a wall of Java moss that i must trim offten or it overtakes the whole tank!

Yes my blue grass females do get huge dorsal fins if they do not get ribbon anal fins.

  • You really know how to raise fish! What is the lighting that you are using? How many hour a day do you have you light on?

  • Do they still produce the red also?

  • WOW.........the dorsals on the females are super long
