split-finger whoohoo!

I mean really, I woohoo way too much. I made this basically so I could see and hear myself drum in hopes that it would help me to get better. In the mean time I figured I'd post it online so I can get over seeing myself on camera, and so that maybe someone else could learn something.

Nevik is an awesome teacher, I learned many of my best rudiments from him. And his work "the Tekronomicon" is a must for anyone willing to dig deep into split finger.

I was at a faire and I got a gift of some money. I ran around at the last minute looking for someplace to spend it becasue everyone was closing up shop and I saw a very pretty drum jsut about to be packed and so I bought it. I like it becasue it seems so simple yet you can create such dynamic out of it. I am not a belly dancer.

Jesus, man. Stop talking about how you look! Why do women do this? You can drum, okay? Stop putting yourself down! Anyway, play to a metronome and keep perfect time before you speed up. Slowing down and speeding up in the same groove develops bad habits.
