I haven't seen any other version come as close to the beauty and grace as this production. This Claire is bad ass.

@psychoshamrock I wrote an e-mail to the PNB, asking if there was a way for them to put this out on DVD. Their reply was that they don't hold the rights to the film, and have so far failed in getting the company that does own it to release the movie on DVD.
You'd think the people who own the rights would smarten up and sell it on DVD during Christmas time! They'd get huge sales.

This is SO superior to every other Nutcracker version out there. It fits so seamlessly that Clara dances upon their arrival to the castle! And without a doubt Patricia Barker is the greatest dancer to have graced the stage.
Don't you just love that rivalry between the Nutcracker Prince and Drosselmeier/ The Grand Pasha? There's still acting and story going on while she's dancing!

@cheekysmiley This was also my very first version of nutcracker! Later, when I watched the other versions, I was real disappointed when Clara didn't even get to dance hardly in the second act. And the fairy was dancing all the dances Clara was supposed to dance!

Such incredible technique and perfection. Please, oh please, get someone to fix this situation and get this version on DVD!!!! Patricia Barker retired from PNB on June 10, 2007. This is by far the role that people know best. Tall, sinewy, ethereal. My jaw dropped the first time I saw this version and I used to be a dancer! In fact, this was one of my parts! My god, what beauty. Patty, you are missed. Divinity personified.
