  • how did those simple tube celestrons make it but my astromaster 114 didnt? i feel as though it would be better

  • Seriously? Long tube refractors on equatorial mounts are the LAST thing I would recommend for a beginner.

  • Oh! by the way if the elements I talk about in my previous comments are too technical for beginner that mean they should to a specialized store to have real advises to by a telescope... So don't do a review on something that need real advises

  • Sorry that's not a telescope review it is astronomical toys review. the most words I hear is "lot of features" what about aperture, focal Length, focal ratio and eyepiece size. All thinks that need to be consider for a real telescope, not about the great color of the bag coming with it or some kind of concern.

Sorry guys, don't make review about something you don't know ;-)

  • @azzy314159 I agree this list is indeed finely ground pork sausage containing cubes of lard. I strongly disagree that anything less than 8" is a waste of time. My most used telescope is a 4" reflector that thousands of people have looked through - many have thanked me for the opportunity. Not even close to a waste of time.

  • I own the red, bulbus, Astro scan and, on a tripod, is my most frequently used scope. People love it's looks at public and sidewalk events and it is fun to use. It is the only scope I own that can manually follow the ISS across the sky when it passes by. You can see the solar panels and nodes!

  • @LiberalJerseyman So you're telling me there is NO point in owning a $350 8" Orion XT8??? GTF out of here! There is sooooo much you can see with that!! Maybe YOU do not want it because you have nicer stuff (which if so, that's great!), but we're talking about a beginner's scope. If you're gonna be a snob about it, I'd hate to have you at one of my star parties!

  • @LiberalJerseyman actually, the last 4 are all pretty good. One has a 6" mirror. I've seen some ok astro photos made with those meade ETX (ok for what they are). Their optics are pretty good for the money. Just the motor/hand control is tricky

  • @LiberalJerseyman I disagree. It depends how "in to it" you are

  • @maryloucries ...but I also have a scope as well as the binos. I've looked through $300 scopes and some (god, not all) aren't that bad. But scopes and binos server different purposes...y else do you guys own some many scopes...
