John Dowland (1563 -- 1626) was an English Renaissance composer, singer, and lutenist. He is best known today for his melancholy songs such as "Flow my tears" , originally composed or also well known as an instrumental piece under the name "Lachrimae pavane" in 1596, it becames famous as ayre for voice and lute througout the ancient Europe of the seventeenth century....
Nowadays discovered back by a lot of modern interprets is also possible to be heard without philological practice......
Tommaso Ieva gives his own interpretation and tries to remark the original charakter by changing voice leading in this transcription as minimal as possible and by using a capotasto on the fifth fret which is used conventionally by the most classical guitarists on the second fret, this allows him to show and impress a sweet sound, well recognised to enrech this piece on the classical guitar with an original and particular sonority.
