This is the band WHaT doing their famous Led Zeppelin medley. It was performed at JJ's Blues in Santa Clara, CA, April 2007. WHaT is John Wedemeyer, Randy Hayes and Endre Tarczy. Note: John shakes hands with someone about 1 min 25 sec in, mid-song!

  • I still remember watching John Wedemeyer and trio 20 years ago in San Jose and some major dive bars with my jaw to the ground. So f-ing talented and never sold out. This is TRUE talent. Not many better than them. Incredible. I could watch him play for hours and hours. Jimmy created this music in this vid, but lets be honest.. he cannot play nearly at the technical ease/level Johnny can.

  • So..... they're not "the flying iguanas" anymore? Guess I've been away a long time...

I think I played that club in '90 or '92 I dunno. Really small stage but great club...

  • Reminds me of the BHA parties in 1982???

  • I opened a show for The John Wedemeyer Trio and at the time we were doing a Zeppelin medley, albeit completely different. Great minds think alike?

  • I think John looks a lot like David Gilmour. I'd like to hear some Floyd or Gilmour solo riffs from John. That would be awesome. Let's start with, uh "Until We Sleep".

  • Bruce Stevie Nils and John ... yeah that would have been a guitar army

  • Man! I miss watching these guys jam!

  • nice

  • I'll grab the mike at J. J.'s or The Poor House, and announce "Who's heard of Raspukin7, hold up your hands", and it's for all of you fellas here. Choose your poison. And a pitcher for the band.

  • Well, I'm a little (ahem!) late in replying, but thanks man, I appreciate the sentiment. Unfortunately, I won't be able to take you up on your offer, since I moved to Omaha in 2004! I have SO many great memories of seeing WHat play over the years in bars and clubs all over the Bay Area. I even saw them open for the Dixie Dregs at the Edge in Palo Alto! Talk about a prestigious gig for them. I would give anything to have a DVD of this show for this night on youtube just to relive the memories.
