Arcmap (ArcGIS 9.2) doesn't have a clear way of running a raster classification like for example in ERDAS IMAGINE. Here I run an unsupervised raster classification in Arcmap on a Satellite Landstat image. The key tools can be found in the Spatial Analysis toolbox: Isocluster (to create as signature file) and Maximum Likelihood (to create the output classified raster)

  • My friend, you are a life saver, I had been searching for days about how to do this kind of classification properly. I am a beginner in ArcGIS and I almost get depressed with the lack of information for people like me. I even lose so much time finding out which is the name of the tool that is necessary, and its location with the toolbox!

    Thanks once again!
