My (Ashley Mills) 2009 NCAC YFEN Film Contest Entry "Free Speech in School, does it exist?"

"Freedom" tells the story of 3 students fighting for controversial issues at their school. This took me about 2 months to plan, film, and edit. I hope you enjoy it! Leave comments, feedback, praise, whatever! Anything is greatly appreciated.

LYRICS:
It was back in the day,
Anything I say wouldnt mean that much
But now I got the voice in my hands like the pants of a sagger, staggering low
What do I do when theres nowhere to go?
How can I speak when its only just me?
How can I recognize when I've never been free?
Plus! freedom of speech is a must,
I talk when needed no need to discuss

I keep on talking
But I am not heard

Starting to feel weak
They're hardly listening

As I speak to a vacant world
All I hear about is diamonds & pearls
No less to impress the "in crowd"
But Im not in so dont, "less me"
My words blow minds like Dizzy Gillespie, now lets be
more intellectual,
& less textual,
& more professional
I could speak a million words
But it means nothin when I aint bein heard, ya!
But some kill on the words thats real
Some get ill cuz it just dont appeal,
But I speak, even when no ones listening
Ima talk forever, I dont plan on finishing

Life is a real movie, it is not a spoof

And if ya dont wanna hear it, then ya betta read a book
